Coronavirus: Contingency Planning

Many of you may have already implemented your own business continuity plans in light of the recent outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19).  We are very mindful of the uncertainty surrounding the outbreak of coronavirus. Although we cannot predict the outcome or the timing of the virus we wanted to provide some reassurance that IRCS have contingency plans in place should the outbreak escalate.

Whilst our office is based in Swansea, we have in place a continuity plan that enables our staff to operate from anywhere in the UK by remotely accessing all systems, files, enquiries and communications.

As from PM Friday 20th of March to stress test our remote working, IRCS will temporarily close our office and we will all work remotely.  We can still be contacted on the office number and by email due to our internet phone systems.

There should be no disruption to our service commitment to you and we will continue to follow the government advice as to restriction movement due to the virus.

In the meantime please try to avoid sending Royal Mail correspondence, including cheques and rather communicate via email, phone, website or BACs payment

As a Precaution, we will automatically renew policies so there is no break in cover unless we have lapse confirmation.

Policy Guidance:

Business Interruption
Under some standard contracts and in common with most other insurers, there is no cover under the specified diseases extension, as COVID-19 is not one of the specified diseases we cover. Business Interruption standard cover for non-damage denial of access also excludes denial of access caused by infectious disease.

There are policies with broader wording so please check this or get in touch to discuss

Further Information can be found by clicking here - BI & COVID-19

Liability
Subject to the terms and conditions of policies, Employers’ and Public Liability policies provide an indemnity to the policyholder if the policyholder is held legally liable for accidental bodily injury or illness arising in connection with the policyholder’s business.

Travel
Our travel policies will respond in certain circumstances, please review your policy wording for full details of cover.
